U- Unknown Fact About Me: {I didn't even know this} When I was little like 2 or 3 I used to kill our family fish. Here are a couple of ways that I did. I threw one out the window. I emptied a bottle of earring cleaner into their fishbowl. There was another one but I can't remember....

W- Worst Habit: Buying something I am not shopping for or that is not on my list.
X-X-Rays or Ultrasounds: ultrasounds. In my past, x-rays were for looking at something broken. My ultrasounds have all been to see my little boy.

Our IKEA trip went all right. We ended up going without Shirley and took little Megan instead. We got the dresser we were looking at for us and we ended up getting a different dresser for little Taffy. It's the same style as our dresser but in white. It took FOREVER to put together too. The reason we got the bigger, nicer dresser is because we decided to get a seperate changing table. So now he has a changing table and a bigger dresser that he can use for years to come. Also the changing table he can put a TV on top with a DVD player in the open part when he's older, it'll grow with him that way. We're pretty excited about our purchases. We just need to get everything in place now. Like I said the dresser took forever to put together but it looks really nice and I washed all of his clothes and have put them away. I thought we had a lot of clothes but now I'm not so sure. Good thing for showers!

We were going to put the changing table cabinet (above) together but when we opened the box, the front door of it was cracked so I went and exchanged that yesterday. and I have to say - IKEA - not so great about exchanges. It might've been easier if I wasn't seven months pregnant but they weren't too helpful. I had to keep searching for someone to help me lift everything. Oh well! We have a new one that isn't cracked so I'm happy :)

We decided on Saturday that instead of having Tafton downstairs with us, we'll have him upstairs in the carpeted bedroom from day one(or three by the time we get home from the hospital). I've just read that transitioning a baby from your room to their nursery is hard and I'd like to avoid that. But now - we have more work to do to get the room ready for him and we only have 57 more days! (woo-hoo!) We need to pick a color to paint his room and get it painted and get everything situated. Any suggestions on paint color are appreciated! Well I'm at work and should get back to it.

Blogging at Nauseum!

I think that I am getting nauseous from change in scenery on my blog. I feel like I have been working on it 24/7, sorry for the inconsistancy if you have visited the site in the last few days, I'm still not 100% satisfied. It's hard to find a theme that represents your personalities. Well I hope that you enjoy the additions of the Slide shows and don't forget to check out the bottom of the page and see my latest favorite picture!

IKEA Saturday!

Ben, Shirley, and I are going to Ikea tomorrow to get some new dressers for our family. Ben and I need(want) a new dresser and we need something for all of Tafton's cute clothes!

We were planning on using Ben's old dresser and just repainting and getting new knobs but I started thinking that by the time we sand down the old dresser and repaint it and get it ready for use, we might as well just buy a new one. And I found one at IKEA that is about the right height and has a wide top that we can put a changing table pad on so I'm sold!

This is the dresser we're planning on using for Tafton. Not too fancy but it'll get the job done! We'll check out other dressers while we're down there too.

I'm really excited to go down to IKEA. If you haven't been there yet you need to go! They have the biggest show room and lots of cool products for great prices which is a plus when you're a young married couple.

Mostly, I can't wait to get a dresser for Tafton because we only have 8 more weeks before he gets here. I really want to have everything in place and ready before he comes. Once we get the dresser, I can start washing all of his clothes and putting them away. Up to now we've been putting all of his clothes and diapers and other things in the crib, under the crib, by the crib, and I would really feel better if everything was in its place. I think I'm starting to go into "nesting" mode. I'm just rushing around trying to get everything ready! It'll be nice to have one more thing done!

Our House

Today was pretty productive for me. I had a Spanish class this morning that got me out of bed, but other than that it was a day off. I have slowed down on house projects as of late, I think because of school, but with the pressure to finish the closet downstairs I knew it was a good day to get some things done. Now I know why dad liked having me around so much and why I was so useful to him. there's nothing like getting on and off the ladder ten times and walking up or downstairs to fetch a tool or flip a breaker. I finished the wiring to the closet (or rather the small room off the master bath) and it is ready for sheetrocking. With the wiring tools in my hands I walked into the front room of our house where a wiring project has been left undone since about the first week that we moved in last August. There has been a live wire with a wingnut cap for months now. Some owner in the past did some wiring job that has left me completely confused. Well to shorten up this story, I finally traced the path of the wiring and have a tentative plan to fix it. When it is finished there will be two new ceiling lights! That will be great, I feel like we aren't quite into the 20th century for the lack of light switches in the front room. The pictures I posted are of the living room and the kitchen, the fine paint job is thanks to my talented wife Megan and her mom JoAnne (awesome at painting, Thanks JoAnne!). I think this house is slowly living up to it's potential!

Baby Update

We are only two months away from having our little baby boy. We are getting so excited! We had another check up with Dr Boheen today and everything is on track. The next visit will be our last scheduled ultrasound, then we will have appointments every week. So I guess the pressure is on for me to get the house clean and ready so that it will be suitable for our little guy. We are undergoing some remodeling and other upgrades in the house that was planned to be done by the time he arrives, but that is not realistically going to happen. That is ok, with the two rooms that we are working on currently "out of commission" that still leaves us with more space that our old apartment, and much fewer bugs. I guess the challenge for me will be to manage my time between school, work, projects and of course Megan. Fortunately my classes end in April and my final is a week before megans due date so as long as He doesn't come early I'll be ready.
